Las Vegas shipping container projects and shipping container related businesses

Container stores made out of repurposed Conex containers in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Downtown Container Park is ahead of many other cities in its innovative outdoor shopping mall and entertainment complex where all of the individual businesses serve their customers out of repurposed shipping container shops. The mall is put together out of a core of 43 shipping containers and 41 cubes occupied by different restaurants, bars serving alcoholic beverages, art shops, and clothing retailers and other assorted types of vendors. Container Park has 153 employees, and is home to 34 tenants in 38 tenant spaces (a few businesses occupy 2 spots). Each container shop has between 170 to 800 square feet of space.

Customized for the requirements of each individual business, the steel shipping containers were renovated, insulated and windows installed, then stacked two and three high and hooked up to utilities to make them ready for tenants. Since interior seating space is limited in each cube, shared outdoor dining tables provide an eating area for diners. The concept wanted to avoid chain stores dominating the tenants list, instead looking to feature unique, independent businesses. Food and beverage vendors include Berries & Bean, BIN 702, Cheffini’s Hot Dog, Downtown Terrace, No.1 Boba, Oak & Ivy, Pinches Tacos, Pizza Zazza, Simply Pure and Waffelato. Boutique shops and services feature Athena’s Jewelry Box, Black Spade Tattoo & Permanent Make, Dream DanceNV, DTLV Merch, Gimme 5, Jojo’s Jerky, Las Vegas Kettle Corn & Special Eve, Las Vegas Magic Shop, Live At Your Own Pace Clothing Co., Lovo Cigars, Pulpit Barbershop, Sassy the Boutique, Sugar Shop Candy and Gifts, Tour Support CBD and others.

Shipping container home developments, Shipping container apartments and tiny homes in Las Vegas

Las Vegas shipping container housing project Share Village
Searching for a solution for affordable housing for the homeless, a Las Vegas architect had an idea after seeing stacks of unused steel Conex containers while on vacation. The first step was developing the prototypes by converting the empty sea containers into livable spaces and obtaining government permit approval. The repurposed shipping containers were then assembled into a tiny house community known as Share Village, was founded in 1994. Since then more than 1,800 people have lived Share Village. Arnold Stalk — the founder of Share Village and one of Las Vegas’s longest working community advocates — has recently opened Share Village #2, more than 25 years after the original project was born.

Homeless veterans and other people in need in the Vegas community have found shelter at the community of shipping container apartments. The shipping container apartments are two different sizes: a smaller 160 sq foot unit and the bigger 320 sq foot unit. The subsidized rent for each apartment costs between $200 to $300 a month. With this rent appreciably more affordable than your typical Las Vegas apartment, the Stalk’s Share Village is a positive step in the efforts to ensure affordable housing options for the Vegas community. 1150 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas. Share Village 2 is located at Park Forest Apartments, 50 N 21st St, Las Vegas
